Admission to the Programs

健康科学学位课程有特定的资格/入学标准.  The following policies are for: Dental Hygiene, Health Information Management, Medical Informatics, Occupational Therapy Assistant, Physical Therapist Assistant, Radiologic Technology, Respiratory Care, Surgical Technology, and Vision Care Technology.  (技术证书课程的录取政策可在“健康科学证书课程录取”目录下找到),

1. Complete the Roane State Community College (RSCC) admissions process to become an admitted student AND
2. When completing the RSCC Application, select A.S. Degree, Pre-Allied Health Sciences, as your program of study. 这将允许你开始参加那些符合先决条件的通识教育课程，这些课程将被考虑进入你选择的联合健康科学AAS课程.

3. The applicant must meet one of the following minimum academic requirements:

   1. HIMT 1300 and 1301 MUST 作为健康信息管理和医学信息专业的必修课程.  HIMT 1302 MAY 在进入健康信息管理或医学信息学专业之前.  HIMT 1400 MAY be taken prior to entering the Health Information Management Program. 
   2. HIMT 1300 MAY be taken prior to entering the Surgical Technology Program.
   3. PTAT 2200 MUST be taken as a prerequisite for the Physical Therapist Assistant program.
   4. RADT 1200 MAY be taken before entering the Radiologic Technology program, 强烈建议在进入放射技术专业之前参加RADT 1200.

10. Meeting minimum qualifications does not guarantee admission to the program of choice.  Preference will be given to TN residents.

Criminal Background Checks

犯罪背景调查和药物筛选可能是用于健康科学贝博体育培训的附属临床站点的要求. Based on the results of these checks, 附属临床站点可能决定不允许您出现在他们的设施. 这将导致你无法成功完成该计划的要求. Students will be responsible for the costs of the background check. Additionally, a criminal background may preclude licensure or employment. More information is available from your program director.

Health Guidelines

In addition, students in the RSCC Health Sciences programs may be exposed to blood, body fluids and communicable diseases. 还有其他潜在的风险，如身体伤害和暴露于电离辐射. 健康科学专业的学生必须遵守临床机构规定的各种健康指南和安全要求，才能参加任何必要的临床经验. Health, safety, and immunization requirements are established by the clinical affiliate (hospital, clinic, community setting, etc.) and not Roane State. Liability Insurance

在参加任何临床学习经验之前，需要医疗事故保险的证据. The fee is included in the student’s tuition and fees as an additional charge and will be listed as “liability insurance”.

Conditional Admission

Retention Policies

学生必须遵守以下标准，否则将被开除相关专业.

1. A grade of “C” or better in each specialty course.
   注意:一些学位课程可能对其他课程(如科学课程)的成绩有额外的保留要求.  Please review the specific program description in this catalog, program webpage, or discuss with the Program Director.
2. Completion of specialty courses as specified by the degree checklist. 学生必须能够完成他/她被录取的班级的课程. 不能在被录取的班级毕业的学生将从该班级退学，必须重新申请下一个班级.
3. 医疗事故保险证明和临床培训前体检证明.
4. 在身体上和精神上有能力履行每个贝博体育核心绩效标准中规定的贝博体育的基本职能.

RSCC的学生行为和纪律处分政策适用于所有学生，无论他们在哪个贝博体育注册. In cases where alcohol and drug violations occur, disciplinary action, as well as the decision whether to test for alcohol or drugs, will be processed through the Dean of Health Sciences and the Dean of Students.

Readmission Procedures

1. 申请再入联合健康课程的学生必须符合所选学位课程的所有入学标准.
2. 申请人必须在入学前至少三十(30)天以书面形式向贝博体育主任提交重新入学请求. 请求必须是对不成功执行的原因和改正计划的详细个人反映.
3. One (1) readmission to an allied health degree program will be permitted.
