This program is designed to provide the student with knowledge and skills of advanced emergency medical care and transportation for critical and noncritical patients. Student learning will focus on expanding the level of understanding of human anatomy and physiology, 疾病过程, 初步评估和病人稳定, proper use of equipment such as ECG monitor/defibrillators, 先进的气道管理.

The 护理人员 certificate program is a three semester program. Applicants to the 护理人员 program will be selected in a cohort of 24 students. 学生 admitted to the program will complete an academic schedule of lecture, 实验室, 以及外部学习经历(临床). Cohort members will be in the classroom 16 hours per week for lecture and 实验室 instruction and 8 hours per week for their external learning experience. During the external learning experience (clinical), 护理人员 students will be supervised by nursing and paramedic preceptors with various 医院, 诊所, and EMS 年龄ncies across the East Tennessee region.

This program is designed to meet all State and National requirements to prepare for the 护理人员 exam given by the National Registry of Emergency Medication Technicians (NREMT).

Minimum Expectations: To prepare competent entry-level 护理人员 in the cognitive (knowledge), 精神运动(技能), and affective (behavior) learning domains with or without exit points at the Advanced Emergency Medical Technician and/or Emergency Medical Technician, 和/或紧急医疗响应级别.

The mission of the Emergency Medical Service section of 贝博体育 is to provide the highest quality pre-hospital emergency care education coupled with hands-on field internship experience in an effort to create a better patient care experience when the student transitions into the workforce. 
The expected levels of achievement for program outcomes relating to graduation rate, licensure pass rate and job placement are as follows:

1. 执照考试首次通过率 must be no more that 10% below the national mean (i.e. if the national mean is 71%, a program mean must be at 61% or higher during the calendar year).
2. 毕业率 will be at least 70% of the students entering the paramedic program fall semester will complete the program within the three semester program length (100% of program length).
3. 就业率 is at least 90% of those graduates who respond to the survey and are seeking employment will be employed within a year of graduation.

田纳西州卫生部, 卫生许可和法规司, Office of 紧急医疗服务 provides program oversight. The program is approved by the Tennessee Board of Regents and is subject to the standard program evaluation required for performance funding.
